We excited to share details for the upcoming UAG (name TBD) Show 11/5-2021-12/31/2021.
The show will be at Art Associates Gallery, located at 21 Railroad Ave, Albany 12205. This gallery and framing shop is owned by Atilla & Kinga Zalavary. www.artassociatesgalleryinc.com 518-459-1307
Any current or former supporter of the UAG may participate! The gallery is a large space with three rooms to show work. There are large walls and small spaces, so there are no restrictions on the size of your work. We have many artists who will be participating, so for now we will be limiting it to five pieces from each artist. However, if your work is on the smaller side, we could fit a few more. And, if the work sells during the show- you can opt to let the buyer take the work and you can replace it with another creation.
There is no submission fee, and the gallery does not charge a commission on sold works. That being said, please spend your time and money promoting the show and think of Atilla if you need any framing work done.
Drop off for the show will be as follows:
Saturday, 10/30 10am-3pm
Sunday, 10/31 by appointment (call Atilla)
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 11/1-11/3/21 12pm-6pm
WE NEED TO HAVE ALL OF THE WORK BY 6pm WEDNESDAY so we can hang the show.
If you cannot make any of the above times, please reach out to Rebecca Schoonmaker and we will try to figure out an alternative for you. Please have a wire on your work. The gallery uses a rod and clip style and wires are what works well with it. Please also make sure your work is labeled so we know which label to use when hanging.
The show will be open during business hours and by appointment through November. We will also be hosting two opening receptions on Friday 11/5/2021 from 4pm-9pm and Friday, 12/3 from 4pm-9pm. We may also have more events throughout the two month span with possible music performances, poetry readings and art events.
The show will end on 12/31 and pick up of your unsold work will be in the days following. I will send out another email at the end of the show reminding you of the dates and times the space is open for pick-up.
Now, due to COVID, there will be some significant differences between this show other UAG shows you have been to. Most significantly, during the receptions, there is no food or beverages allowed in the gallery space, or within six feet of the entrance. Masks must be worn in the gallery space. There can only be 25 people in the space at one time. Luckily there is a significant amount of outside space where people can continue to mingle after seeing the art, while welcoming guests to the show and while waiting your turn to get into the space. It is very important that we adhere to the NYS guidelines on events during this time, and we appreciate you working with us on this.
Please continue to spread the word to past UAG members that you know. I tried to reach out to everyone, every way I could think of- but I do have old email addresses and not everyone is on social media. We want everyone to be included!
