Hank Meier has been captivated with watercolor since he was a young. During overseas duty in the Army he sketched on-location to capture military life, Normandy landscapes and Paris’s Montmartre street scenes. After his wartime service Hank sketched whenever time allowed as he earned his Engineering Degree at Penn State. Later in the mid 80s he became a full time painter. Since then He has been elected to active membership in the prestigious American Watercolor Society. He is a signature member of Allied Artists of America, Watercolor West, AAPL, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society and the Baltimore Watercolor Society. He holds the status of Fellow in The American Artists Professional League. He served as a Director and Membership Chairman of The Philadelphia Water Color Society who presented the Crest Award to him in 2004 based on his award achievements.

He has been awarded prizes in The Baltimore W. C. Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and Allied Artists of America. He was honored as Artist of the Year for PNC Bank and The Delaware Foundation of Visual Arts presented him as the Honored Artist for 2005 at The Hagley Museum. His work was featured in the Spring 2003 Watercolor Magic and Fall 1995 The Watercolor Magazine issues and a reproduction of an award winning painting was included in the 1994 Winsor Newton Artists Calendar.

His work is included in the collections of the Winterthur Foundation, United States Coast Guard, Medical Center of Delaware, DuPont Europe in Geneva, Hotel DuPont, MBNA America, PNC Bank, Wilmington Trust Co., CIGNA and other corporate and private collections.
