"After two years of agonizing recovery from a life altering hit-and-run accident, cyclist Pearson Constantino and his brother Pete are riding across America to make our roads safer and inspire more bicycling. A documentary film, THE LONG BIKE BACK, is being made about Pearson's inspirational comeback and the brothers' epic ride.
For the full press release on the trip, please visit:

NYBC is organizing a ride to accompany the two brothers biking in the last ~15 miles from Dunnesville (Route 20/Western Ave) down to Washington Park, with the goal of arriving in Washington Park by 5pm on Saturday, 9/27.

A short welcome reception at the UAG Gallery from 5:30-7pm. The film director would show a clip (approx. 20 min. in length) of her documentary in progress, after which Pearson and Pete would present their mission, meet people and talk about their trip and their road sharing/safety advocacy. Like the DreamWheels Art exhibit this past May, we think this event would be a wonderful way to engage members of the Albany community and promote our Share the Road message.

In order to defray expenses and pay for food/hors de'overes served, NYBC would like to suggest a $10 donation ($5 student/low-income); any proceeds for the event would benefit our Share the Road campaign and increasingly bicycle safety awareness.
