The circus is a phenomenon that thrills and excites people all over the world every year. I was seven the first time I went to the circus and I can still remember looking forward to it with anticipation. Though I don?t remember much of the actual show, I?ve never forgotten the enthusiasm of the crowd or the sticky pink cloud of cotton candy that I so thoroughly enjoyed. That?s the thing with the circus; it?s more about the iconic images and the festive atmosphere than the individual shows.
When one thinks of the circus these traditional items tend to come to mind: big red and white striped tents, elephants, tight-rope walkers, lion tamers, trapeze artists, clowns, peanuts, popcorn, and cotton candy. The circus is a larger- than-life traveling entertainment event that has captivated audiences for years and will continue to do so for years to come.
UAG presents Big Top, an exhibition of artwork inspired by the circus. With featured artist, K.V. Khai, and side room artist, Onna Adams. Window display by Carriage House Art Center.
